Spanning 24 kilometers with multiple planned stations, the Sydney Metro West Tunnel involves large-scale civil engineering works, including deep excavation, tunnel construction using multiple TBMs, and complex utility relocations. The scope encompasses integrated station development, rail systems installation, and environmental management to ensure long-term sustainability and compliance with regulatory standards. With key interchange points at Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park, and the CBD, this project represents a critical backbone of Greater Sydney’s future mobility strategy.

From initial design and procurement through to delivery and commissioning, the project requires cross-disciplinary coordination between civil, structural, geotechnical, and systems engineering teams. It is delivered through a combination of design and construct (D&C) contracts and alliance partnerships, encouraging innovation, shared risk, and transparent collaboration.
